AGNES LESSLEY

Agnes Irene Lessley, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1997, at Beverly Health Rehab Center.

She was born May 26, 1913, in Bollinger County, daughter of Grover and Cornelia Lessley Slinkard. She first married Howard Fretty. She later married Herschel Lessley.

Lessley grew up in Cape Girardeau County, lived in Paxton, Ill., 10 years, and moved back to Cape Girardeau in 1956. She had worked at various restaurants, and was a member of Hanover Lutheran Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Lucille Frank and Sarah Wachter of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Private graveside service will be held Wednesday at Memorial Park, with the Rev. Jeffrey Sippy officiating.
