Agnes Mary Goetz, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 21, 1909, at Dutchtown, Mo., daughter of Phillip and Anna Beahre Simpher. She and Leo Goetz were married May 14, 1935, in Advance, Mo. He died May 12, 1977.
Goetz was a seamstress 25 years at Thorngate Ltd. She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and its St. Ann Sodality.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Glaus of Cape Girardeau, Joyce Brown of Chaffee, Mo.; two sisters, Ann Dannenmueller of Chicago, Bertha Glastetter of Byhalia, Miss.; two grandchildren, Darrell Welter of Scott City, Mo., Norman Glaus of Cape Girardeau; two great-grandchildren, Ben Glaus of Carbondale, Ill., and Winston Welter of Scott City.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six brothers, and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be said at 7.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral. Msgr. Richard Rolwing will officiate. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery at New Hamburg, Mo.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, or the American Heart Association.
