SIKESTON, Mo. -- Margaret Agatha Largent, 95, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sikeston. Born Oct. 21, 1910, in Gideon, Mo., to the late Martin VanBuren and Elizabeth A. Atteberry Mumma. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston for over 50 years where she was active in the United Methodist Women's Circle II, women's civic club, volunteered at Scott County blood drives and enjoyed her bridge clubs...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Margaret Agatha Largent, 95, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2006, at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 21, 1910, in Gideon, Mo., to the late Martin VanBuren and Elizabeth A. Atteberry Mumma.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston for over 50 years where she was active in the United Methodist Women's Circle II, women's civic club, volunteered at Scott County blood drives and enjoyed her bridge clubs.

On April 29, 1932, she married Louie Rice Largent, who preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1974.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James D. and Carol Largent of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lou and Jimmy "Chunk" Johnson of Sikeston; a brother, Bill Mumma of Rolla, Mo.; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Cindy (Joe) Lankheit of Sikeston, Doug (Cheryl) Johnson of New Hamburg, Susan (Frank) Babcock of Lake Villa, Ill., Kevin Largent of Chicago, Ill., Theresa Largent and Ellis Largent, both of San Diego, Calif., Celeste Largent of St. Louis and Charles "Chuck" (Bethany) Largent of Sikeston; five great-grandchildren, Connor and Cord Babcock of Lake Villa, Ill., Allison Johnson of New Hamburg and Jacob and Jack Largent, both of Sikeston.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles B. and William M. Largent; three brothers, Van, Dick and Burl Mumma; and a sister, Jean DeLancy.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Ponder Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Ponder Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin, Ellis and Charles Largent, Doug Johnson, Frank Babcock and Tim Ganboa.
