Adelyn Anna Logemann Stuart was born at home Nov. 15, 1921, on a farm outside Bennington, Nebraska, to August and Elsie Meeves Logemann. She passed away at 101 years old at Saint Francis Medical Center on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023, after a short illness.

Adelyn attended grade school in a one-room country schoolhouse and high school in Bennington. She then joined her sister at the business school in Grand Island, Nebraska.

She moved to Washington, D.C., and worked in the War Department, where she met her future husband, Frank H. Stuart. They were married Dec. 23, 1942, in Washington.

Frank and Adelyn lived in Louisiana and Texas while Frank was in the Army Air Corps. While he was based overseas, Adelyn moved to Omaha and lived with her father. Adelyn and Frank moved to Cape Girardeau in 1949, where Frank worked as a certified public accountant. Between 1944 and 1950, Frank and Adelyn had three children, Pamela, Michael and Mark. They were married 50-plus years.

After Frank's passing in May 1994, Adelyn moved to Chateau Girardeau, where she resided until her passing.

Adelyn was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and served as librarian from 1965 until 2015. The library was dedicated in her name Oct. 8, 2023. She was a member of the Cape Girardeau Rose Hill Garden Club since 1975. She was also a member of Women's Missionary Union of FBC, serving as president twice. She was a member of the Red Hats and Young at Hearts (FBC senior group). She also served the Cape Associational Church Media Organization as president and the Southeast District as media consultant for the Missouri Baptist Convention.

Her happiest moments at The Chateau were while serving on the activities committee by assisting with bulletin boards, arranging flowers for dining room tables and working in the library. She loved helping whenever she could. Her main hobbies were reading, doing counted cross stitch, jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles, following St. Louis Cardinals baseball and giving book reviews (53) and reports and programs (24).

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Stuart Gardner (husband Rick); granddaughter, Elizabeth Garden Bramstedt (husband Chris); great-grandson; Brandon Bramstedt (wife Elizabeth); and great-great-granddaughter, Aurora; great-grandson, Chandler Bramstedt (fiancee Juliana Raimondo); and granddaughter, Sarah Gardner Shivler (husband Ronnie); great-granddaughters, Emma Shivler Rawlings (husband Luke) and Addison Gove (husband Jimmy).

Son, Michael Frank Stuart (wife Anna Marie); granddaughter, Janene Stuart Asgeirsson (husband Joey); great-granddaughter, Madison; grandson, Sean Stuart (wife Michaela); great-grandchildren, Reagan, Bryce and Ian; grandson, Greg Spraul (wife Beth); great-granddaughters, Kate and Ella; grandson, Tom Stuart (wife Vicki); and great-granddaughter, Alyson;

Son, Mark Leslie Stuart (wife Debbie Sutherland); granddaughter, Julie McCarthy Christman (husband Greg); great-grandchildren, Cana, Elle and Coura; grandson, Beau McCarthy (wife Carmel); great-grandsons, Harvest and Jericho; grandson, Jay Stuart (wife Mary); great-grandson, Tyler; grandson, Paul David Stuart (wife Lauren); great-grandson, Henry; and grandson, Andrew McCarthy.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

Adelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Stuart; parents; siblings, William "Bill" Logemann, Alvin Logemann, Sylvia Logemann Ehlers, Marion Logemann and Rollin "Stubb" Logemann; and several nieces and nephews.

Adelyn will be deeply missed. She was a ray of sunshine wherever she went.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home, with her granddaughter, Elizabeth Bramstedt, officiating.

Burial will follow at Dexter (Missouri) Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Samaritan's Purse or First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.
