SIKESTON, Mo. -- Addie Elizabeth Bixler, 89, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Oct. 20, 1914, in Braggadocio, Mo., daughter of Joseph and Effie Mae Ingram Hampton. She and Roy Bixler were married Sept. 15, 1932, in Caruthersville, Mo. He died Feb. 11, 1972...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Addie Elizabeth Bixler, 89, of Sikeston died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 20, 1914, in Braggadocio, Mo., daughter of Joseph and Effie Mae Ingram Hampton. She and Roy Bixler were married Sept. 15, 1932, in Caruthersville, Mo. He died Feb. 11, 1972.

Bixler was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church. She was formerly of Canalou, Mo.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Bixler of Cape Girardeau, James Bixler of Sikeston; three daughters, Shirley Alexander of Levelland, Texas, Annette Dismuke of Caseyville, Ill., Sue Smith of Enid, Okla.; two brothers, George Hampton of Fayetteville, N.C., Billy Hampton of Hot Springs, Ark.; nine grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Garden of Memories Cemetery, with the Rev. Kelly Grubbs officiating.
