Adath Tilley, 87, of Cape Girardeau, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born Dec. 15, 1909, at Toga, Mo., daughter of Albert Rees and Zelma Jane Hefner Rees.
She married Robert Tilley on Aug. 4, 1927, at Mound City, Ill. He preceded her in death.
She moved to Cape Girardeau in 1927. She was a member of the Salvation Army for 60 years. She was a volunteer at the Teen Challenge Thrift Store.
She is survived by two sons, Lavana Tilley of Sandford, Fla., and Kenneth Tilley of Jackson; two daughters, Linda McDonald, Houston, Texas, and Darlene Allen of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Wesley Rees of Cape Girardeau and Lesley Rees of St. Louis; a sister, Murl Cutright of Cape Girardeau; 39 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons.
Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
Service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel, with Capt. Robert Gauthier of the Salvation Army and Sgt. Kristi Arredondo, of the Salvation Army in Plainview Texas, officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park.
