WAPPAPELLO, Mo. -- Adah L. Rowell, 70, of Wappapello died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, from injuries received in an automobile accident near Wappapello.
She was born Sept. 13, 1932, at Morehouse, Mo., daughter of Walter and Mercedes Merick. She and Charles Herbert Rowell Sr. were married Dec. 31, 1953, at Chaffee, Mo.
Rowell was a member of VFW Post 3416 Ladies Auxiliary and Eagles Aerie 4066 Ladies Auxiliary in Wappapello and Henry Meldrum American Legion Post 114 Ladies Auxiliary in Sikeston, Mo.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Herb Rowell Jr. of Floresville, Texas, Steve and Tom Rowell of Wappapello, David Rowell of Sikeston, Mo., Tim Rowell of Morehouse; two daughters, Jo Ann O'Meara of Florissant, Mo., and Jennifer Scott of Maryland Heights, Mo.
Also surviving is a brother, Bill Merick of Aquilla, Mo.; five sisters, Shirley Murphy of Bossier City, La., Barbara Boyer of Sikeston, Rozella Payne of Bridgeton, Mo., Mildred Winkle of Seattle, Wash., Nancy Early of Maryland Heights; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Dr. Rick Ramsey will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery at Sikeston.
