ADVANCE -- Funeral for Ada Jo Nanna of Advance will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Red Star Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. The Revs. Don Stephens and Cy Smith will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.

Nanna, 92, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born Jan. 14, 1906, in Oklahoma, daughter of Charles and Vallie Scott Rowe. She and Earl George Nanna were married in 1926 in Cape Girardeau. He died Feb. 4, 1961.

Nanna was a salesclerk and worked in the stockroom at JCPenney 17 years, and also worked at International Shoe Co. several years.

She was a member of Red Star Church, taught Sunday School more than 60 years, and was recognized by Missouri Baptist Convention for those years of service.

Survivors include a son, Earl Nanna of Advance; two brothers, Claude Rowe of Hayward, Calif., Arthur Rowe of Ervin, Texas; a grandson; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, two brothers, and two sisters.
