A.D. WOODS

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for A.D. Woods of Mound City, Ill., will be held at 4 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Danny Tackett will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park.

Woods, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 1994, at his home.

He was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Dyer County, Tenn., son of Talmadge and Bertha Woods. He married Johnnie Frye, who died July 1, 1984.

Woods was a retired farmer, and had lived in Illinois the past year.

Survivors include three sons, J.D. Woods of Wolf Island, Jimmy Woods of Sikeston, Kenny Woods of Little Elm, Texas; four daughters, Helen Wynn of Marietta, Okla., Mary Williamson of Hayti, Nina Spurgeon and Nellie Triplett of East Prairie; a stepson, Donald Smith of Sikeston; a brother, Royce Woods of East Prairie; a sister, Georgia Williford of East Prairie; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sons.
