Mary finds herself faced with the task of raising two young children by herself this Christmas. Chief among her needs are the tools to help her daughters learn as they grow.
Her children include 5-year-old Ellen and 2-year old Jennifer.
The younger child is at an age where educational toys are a great aid to development. Mary hopes Jennifer will receive learning toys and books.
Of course, Jennifer likes cartoon characters and undersea resident SpongeBob is her favorite.
The older daughter, Ellen, would also enjoy learning toys and games.
She likes board games and reading books as well.
Her favorite cartoon character is Dora the Explorer, who takes youngsters on educational adventures around the world.
These two girls are interested in learning. Donations this Christmas could help their mother continue to keep the girls on the right track.
For those interested in contributing to the Toybox and Christmas for the Elderly campaigns, new toys and gifts may be delivered to the Southeast Missourian office or area locations.
Cash contributions are also welcome.
All contributions are tax-deductible and may be mailed separately to Toybox Trust, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0004, or Christmas for the Elderly, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0004.
