SIKESTON -- A workshop on legal rights of persons with disabilities in educational settings will be held Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sikeston Regional Center.
The workshop will be presented by Missouri Protection and Advocacy Services. Topics of discussion include right to a free and appropriate public education, appeal rights, Public Law 94-142, and due process.
Other topics are legal rights of persons under guardianship, vocational rehabilitation, how to make the system work and eligibility for services from the Department of mental Health.
