All eyes looked skyward Monday morning as the new Stoddard County Ambulance District's new radio transmitter tower was installed at the site of the district's facility just off Cooper Street across from West City Park. The contract for purchase and construction of the tower was awarded to Battles Communications at a cost of $32,324.90. The 140-foot tower will be powerful enough to provide direct communications between all four ambulance centers in the county. Employees from Battles, along with the subcontractor, Dexter Ag, are shown putting the tower in place.
