Chris Wrigley, vice president of Associated Industries of Missouri (AIM), will be guest speaker during a "Workers' Compensation Basics" workshop, to be conducted at Cape Girardeau June 26.
the four-hour workshop will be held at the Holiday Inn convention center, with registration at 8 a.m.
The program is designed as a beginner's course for entry level personnel, safety and line supervisors who are responsible for workers' safety or workers compensation.
Among topics to be discussed will be filing injury claims, employer/employee rights, and commercial workers compensation coverage and self insurance.
"Those attending the seminar will learn what needs to be reported, why it needs to be reported and how to handle company referrals for medical assistance," said Wrigley. "Key forms that are required to be filled out by the employer will be covered in detail."
Wrigley added that the rights of employers and employees would be discussed.
