Woodland to host screenings for preschool and kindergarten

Woodland R-IV School District is preparing to host its preschool and kindergarten screenings for children eligible to attend the 2024-25 school year. The preschool and kindergarten screenings will be held at Woodland Elementary School.

• Screenings for children attending the Early Learning Preschool Program will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, March 25.
• Kindergarten screenings will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, Wednesday, March 27, and Thursday, March 28. Children who will be 5 years old by July 31 are eligible to attend kindergarten.

Appointments are required as spots fill up quickly.

Screenings will be conducted in the areas of vision, hearing, motor concepts, speech and language. In addition, each child will be weighed, and height will be measured. Parents should schedule for their child to be there for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Parents will also be able to speak with the coordinator and get results when their child¹s screening is complete.

• Parents need to bring the following items to the preschool and kindergarten screenings: two proofs of residence, their child's birth certificate and Social Security card, immunization records, any court documents that may pertain to their child, and any doctors' reports if applicable.
• A child will not be considered for the Early Learning Preschool Program until all required documents are in the Woodland files.
