WOODLAND STUDENT PARTICIPATES IN TRAINEE PROGRAM

Amanda Roark Massey, a senior at Woodland High School, and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Roark of Grassy, is the Business and Office Education Cooperative (BEO) student of the month.

Amanda is a participant of the cooperative trainee program. The objective of this program is to promote a smooth transition from high school to the present day office work force. She is presently employed by Woodland school. Amanda's supervisor is Mrs. Beverly Johnson, secretary, Woodland R-IV High School.

Amanda says she enjoys her work and feels that it is an important educational experience. She assists with routine record keeping, answers the telephone and deals daily with the public. Amanda feels that communication and an understanding of people is perhaps the most important aspect of being successful in her job.

In addition to Amanda's hours spent as a trainee, she is also enrolled in office technology, physical education, world foods and home economics and is active in FHA, Beta Club and WASTED.

The Business and Office Education Cooperative program has been a part of the Woodland R-IV High School curriculum for many years and is under the supervision of the Vocational Business Education Department.
