One woman's night out ended badly Monday when she came home to find a SWAT team in her neighborhood, a police spokesman reported.
A Cape Girardeau Police Department SWAT team was executing a search warrant in the 500 block of South Pacific Street when an intoxicated driver pulled up Monday evening, said Darin Hickey, public information officer for the department.
The team followed standard protocol when it pulled up in a van and several officers got out, throwing a distractionary device commonly known as a "flash bang," before entering the building to search, Hickey said.
He did not have information about what the team was looking for or what it found, but he said officers made no arrests in connection with the search.
They did, however, arrest a woman on suspicion of DWI after she drove up to the scene in an apparently intoxicated state, Hickey said.
The driver's name was not immediately available Tuesday.
