Dolly Foster recently celebrated her 90th birthday with a family party at the Mary Spitzmiller home on Lorimier Street in Cape Girardeau. Foster has been a resident of Chateau Girardeau for eight years.
The late Mary Spitzmiller was Foster's sister-in-law. The Lorimier Street home is now a bed and breakfast owned by Tom and Terrie Neumeyer.
The party was hosted by Foster's four children and attended by almost 40 family members.
Bagpipe player George Gerules provided musical entertainment and honored Foster's Scots-Irish heritage.
Foster is the widow of Lt. Col. Sam Foster, who graduated from the University of Southeast Missouri and taught for several years in Illinois and other states.
