CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A Texas woman decided to take a gamble and now is facing charges of child endangerment.

Caruthersville police were called to the Lady Luck Casino at 7:15 p.m. Saturday in reference to a missing vehicle and juveniles. Glennia L. Roberts of Rock Port, Texas, told officers she had left her 16-year-old and 7-year-old granddaughters in the vehicle while she went into the casino to gamble, according to a news release issued by Caruthersville police chief Chris Riggs. The woman said when she returned the vehicle was missing.

It was subsequently learned the missing children were actually 13 and 7 years old. Roberts was charged with child endangerment and taken to the Pemiscot County Jail, where she is being held without bond.

The children and vehicle were found at England Park, where the vehicle had run out of gas.
