Woman killed in Sunday accident

DIEHLSTADT, Mo. -- A Southeast Missouri woman was fatally injured in a one-vehicle accident early Sunday in Scott County.

Sarah L. Adams, 35, of Charleston, Mo., died from injuries received in the accident, which happened at 1:05 a.m. two miles south of Diehlstadt.

Adams lost control of her vehicle, ran off the left side of the road and overturned. There were no passengers in the vehicle, and she was not wearing a seat belt, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol's report

Adams was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center for treatment. She died less than an hour later.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
