NEW MADRID -- Patsy Rollins, 33, of East St. Louis, Ill., suffered fatal injuries in a two-vehicle accident about three miles south of Marston on Interstate 55 about 12:45 a.m. Saturday.
Rollins was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Wanda Rollins, 22, of East St. Louis.
Six other passengers in the Rollins suffered injuries.
Missouri Highway Patrol said the Rollins vehicle was traveling south on I-55 when it was struck by a van also traveling south. Authorities said the Rollins vehicle left the roadway and overturned several times.
Roy Jones, 22, of Jacksonville, Ill., driver of the van, failed to stopand was arrested at Hayti, where he was charged with involuntary manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license, authorities said.
Suffering minor injuries in the Rollins vehicle were the driver, Wanda Rollins; Corwin Williams, 1; Tamara Hardy, 3; and Latonya Green, 2, all of East St. Louis.
Suffering serious injuries were Elizabeth Moore, 34; Theodore Moore, 29; and Terrell Rollins, 1, all of E. St. Louis. The injured were taken to three hospitals Delta Memorial Hospital at Sikeston, St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, and Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital at Hayti.
