MARION, Ill. — A Marion woman found last month pinned under her husband's body inside their Marion home has died.
Williamson County Coroner Mike Burke said 83-year-old Blanche Roberts died Tuesday at a hospital in Herrin, Ill.
A newspaper carrier checking the couple's well-being found Roberts on April 27.
Burke said he believes 77-year-old Fred Roberts died of a heart attack four days earlier after mowing the lawn. He fell onto his wife, pinning one of her legs. She was unable to wriggle free.
The coroner said Blanche Burke was hospitalized since the day she was found and died of complications from her ordeal.
Marion's Blue Funeral Home says there will be a joint service for the couple.
