Woman dies after vehicle overturns into ditch
KEWANEE, Mo. -- A New Madrid, Mo., woman was killed after her vehicle overturned into a water-filled ditch Tuesday in New Madrid County. KEWANEE, Mo. -- A New Madrid, Mo., woman was killed after her vehicle overturned into a water-filled ditch Tuesday in New Madrid County.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 2:20 p.m., Melissa D. Hunter, 53, was traveling eastbound on Route P, three miles east of Kewanee, when her vehicle ran off the road, struck a bridge and overturned into a water-filled ditch.
Hunter was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:30 p.m. by New Madrid County Coroner Jimmy McSpadden and transported to Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid.
