A Cape Girardeau woman is accused of trying to assault her husband with two knives and threatening to cut him from ear to ear Tuesday.

Theresa Marie Lawson, 42, of Cape Girardeau is charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon.

Cape Girardeau police officer Nick Becker wrote in a probable-cause statement he was sent to the 400 block of Sheridan Drive twice late Monday and early Tuesday.

The first was a verbal dispute between Lawson and her husband, although it was apparent Lawson was intoxicated, Becker wrote.

On the second call at 1:42 a.m. Tuesday, Becker talked to a juvenile male who said Lawson attempted to assault her husband with two knives and said she would cut him from ear to ear, Becker wrote.

Lawson was arrested. Becker wrote she was upset with her husband and the juvenile, and he feared retaliation against the victim.
