KENNETT, Mo. -- It has been more than a month since Lisa McCormick's jury trial was canceled, and now a new trial date has been released.
On April 1, it was decided that McCormick, who is being charged with felony abandonment of a corpse, will next appear in court at 10:30 a.m. May 22 for a pre-trial conference. She then will be tried by a jury beginning at 9 a.m. June 14.
Both the pre-trial conference and the jury trial will be presided over by Judge Robert N. Mayer at the Dunklin County Courthouse.
McCormick was charged Sept. 22 after the body of Autumn Medley, 20, of Kennett was found on County Road 322 near Gibson, Mo., on Sept. 21.
McCormick posted a surety bond of $25,000 on Sept. 25. On Dec. 12, 2012, McCormick entered a plea of not guilty.
Medley's death continues to be under investigation.
