A suspect is in custody after allegedly striking a young woman in the head with a baseball bat in Cape Girardeau last weekend.
Larcene Robinson, 59, of Cape Girardeau has been charged with two felonies relating to the alleged attack that happened Saturday afternoon in the 500 block of South Benton Street, according to the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
The 18-year-old woman was conscious and responsive when emergency professionals arrived but complained of head pain and dizziness, said Cape Girardeau police Sgt. Adam Glueck. She was taken to a hospital.
Robinson has been charged with second-degree assault and armed criminal action, both felonies.
Her bond has been set as $25,000 cash only. She was scheduled to appear before Judge Gary Kamp.
Missouri court records show Robinson pleaded guilty on two counts of forgery in 2001.
Records show she also pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree trespassing in 2007.
Police did not release further information about the victim or her condition at this time.
