Winter weather is heading to the Cape Girardeau area, but weather experts have no expectations of severe weather.
Deanna Lindstrom of the National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky, said two events will occur as an "upper level disturbance" passes through the area.
The first event takes place tonight through Thursday. As of Wednesday afternoon, Lindstrom said an inch or less of a "mixed bag" of snow and ice is possible.
"They're expecting mostly snow with some sleet mixed with it," she said.
The second event is expected to hit the area Friday night and continue into Saturday. Again, Lindstrom said no more than an inch was expected.
"They're both one inch or less totals," she said of the two winter weather events. "The event on Friday could just be half an inch."
