Sleet and freezing rain are expected to fall this afternoon. The icy precipitation shouldn't freeze on roadways, but will freeze on elevated surfaces, the weather service said. As temperatures fall tonight travel could become hazardous.

The low is expected to drop into the teens tonight in Cape Girardeau.
