Ann Swanson of Gulliver's Travel Agency in Cape Girardeau and Carolyn Rannells of Harper's Travel Service in Dexter drew the winning tickets for Cape Municipal Airport's Balloon Fest 1994 contest.
Travel agents in Cape Girardeau, Dexter, Kennett, Perryville, Poplar Bluff, Ste. Genevieve and Sikeston who were interested in taking a hot air balloon ride during Balloon Fest was encouraged to submit their name for the drawing.
Swanson and Rannells each received two tickets for the ride, a $250 value.
In addition, Maxine Lorenz of Jackson won a drawing held by Trans World Express for four St. Louis Cardinal baseball tickets during Balloon Fest '94. Included in the package was accommodations for four at the Holiday Inn-Airport in St. Louis.
During the months of June and July TWE gave Cape Girardeau passengers the opportunity to register for two free tickets anywhere TWA flies domestically. Priscilla Waldron of East Prairie was the winner.
Each entrant was asked to identify the travel agency they used for their trip. A $25 gift certificate, courtesy of J.C. Penney, was given to the travel agency from Cape Girardeau whose name appeared most, as well as the agency from the region. The recipients were Perry Travel of Cape Girardeau and KVS Travel in Dexter.
