The sixth annual Missouri Student Mathematics Regional Contest was held recently on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
The event was sponsored by the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Area students in grades four through six competed in three events: problem solving, geometric and numeric concepts, and estimation and computation. The top three winners in each division will compete Saturday in the state mathematics contest at Columbia.
The contest, sponsored by the Missouri Council of Teachers of Mathematics, is the only statewide math contest for students from kindergarten through sixth grade.
