The Southeast Symphonic Wind Ensemble will perform a concert at Southeast Missouri State University's Academic Auditorium Thursday for all fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade classes in Cape Girardeau schools.
In addition to introducing the students to band instruments, the program will feature a musical geography lesson with the performance of selections from Norway, Hungary and the United States.
Gyorgyi Tauber, a Southeast student from Hungary, will tell the students about the history and music of his native land.
Dr. Robert Gifford, music professor at Southeast, will conduct the ensemble. The concert will begin at 12:55 p.m., and is open to the public.
