Unique point: "Scott City has a very special location in that we have the railroad running through town, we're close to the river and the regional port authority, the interstate runs right through town, and we're only two miles from the airport. We have a great potential for industrial and economic development," says Mayor Shirley Young.
John Counts: "I've lived here since 1972. I'm an engineer for the Cotton Belt Railroad, and it's close to work. Most everyone is friendly. I prefer a small town."
Krystal Moore: "It's small and you get to know everyone. The town really supports the school's athletic programs. It's close enough to Cape."
Mary Ann Crump: "I like being able to know people like you can in a small town. I've lived here all my life."
Dale Ferguson: "I moved here 21 years ago from St. Louis, and everything is a little more personable here. I feel my children are receiving a better education here."
