The songs, preaching and life of John and Susannah Wesley will be the topic of a weekend lecture at Centenary United Methodist Church.
The Revs. Dr. R. John and Cynthia Tudor will speak during the three-day lecture series. Services will be at 7 tonight and again Saturday and Sunday mornings.
The Tudors, from Brighton, United Kingdom, will speak at the church for its third "Special Event" lecture series. John Tudor will speak Monday to the Cape Girardeau Rotary Club, and Cynthia Tudor will speak to the United Methodist Women's' groups.
John Tudor, a graduate of the University of Manchester, is an honorary doctor of divinity from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas. He has served as a Methodist minister in the United Kingdom. The Rev. Cynthia Tudor is also a graduate of the University of Manchester and has been a local preacher for 40 years. She accompanies her husband on preaching tours.
John Tudor will speak at 7 tonight and again Saturday at 10 and 11 a.m. He also will speak at the 8 and 10:45 a.m. worship services Sunday.
Cynthia Tudor will speak at 12:45 p.m. Saturday about Susannah Wesley and again at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Both will speak to youth at 6:15 p.m. Sunday at the church.
