BENTON, Mo. -- Scott County deputies made two unanticipated drug arrests when they served a warrant for probation violation in Haywood City, Mo., on Thursday, the sheriff said.
Deputies were searching for Thomas Wiley Jr., 39, who was wanted on a warrant for probation violation and for escaping from custody. He was found and arrested Thursday night at a Haywood City residence.
During the arrest, deputies noticed a woman attempting to hide in a closet. They discovered her and an undetermined quantity of marijuana, Sheriff Bill Ferrell said.
Tori O. Banks, 24, was arrested for possession of marijuana and failure to appear in court on an earlier marijuana possession charge.
As deputies exited the residence with Banks, another woman was seen in the living room with what appeared to be crack cocaine. They arrested Shantel Gipson, 25, who is charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.
All three are being held in the Scott County jail. Gipson has a $150,000 bond, Banks' bond is $12,000, and Wiley is being held without bond pending a hearing.
