Fire Tuesday destroyed batteries, lacquer thinner and insulation at Auto Tire and Parts warehouse at Christine and Good Hope.
"There's not much significant damage to the structure," said Max Jauch, an investigator with the Cape Girardeau Fire Department. "There was a lot of damage to the contents of the warehouse, though. It's pretty significant."
He said firefighters were called at about 11:18 a.m. By using a lot of resources, he said firefighters had the blaze out within an hour.
Jauch said cause of the fire was under investigation but foul play isn't suspected.
"We really don't know what caused it yet," he said. "I still have to talk to a few more people."
Jauch said the fire started in an area housing batteries on the first floor of the warehouse. He said the fire was contained to that area of the warehouse because firefighters acted so quickly.
