"Walking Your Way to Fitness" is the topic of the May Women to Women luncheon. The meeting is scheduled for noon on May 20 in Conference Room A & B of the St. Francis Health and Education Center.
Walking not only provides physical and mental benefits (including weight reduction and lowering of cholesterol), but experts agree that it has direct and positive psychological benefits, according to the medical center.
Bernie Bamberger, exercise physiologist at St. Francis, will be the featured speaker. Bamberger will discuss ways to insure safety while becoming fit. She will provide tips on proper footwear and weight loss.
The Woman to Woman luncheons are sponsored by the St. Francis Education Department and the Medical Center's Womancare program. A $5 registration fee covers the meal.
The upcoming program on June 17, "Nutrition & Weight Loss" will be presented by dietitian Carolyn Peer-Hammonds. To register, or for more information, call the St. Francis Education Department at 339-6107.
