WALKER TO JOIN JACKSON BOND

JACKSON -- Julie Walker will be the special guest perform at Thursday's Jackson Municipal Band concert at 8 p.m. at the band shell in the Jackson City Park.

Walker, originally from Webster Groves, is a 1980 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She performed with the university choir and starred in several musicals, including "Godspell."

She is choir director at Grace United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.

The instrumental portion of the concert will include "Salute to American Jazz," "Big Horn Boogie," "Coast Guards" and other favorites.
