Wal-Mart Supercenter is observing a special safety week at its store, 3439 William.

"We started our observance Monday," said Judi Henson, coordinator of the firm's safety week here. "Activities will continue through Saturday."

Henson said the safety week observance is companywide.

Today's schedule includes a visit by LifeBeat Air Medical Services of Southeast Missouri Hospital from 1 to 3 p.m. Louis the Lightning Bug will be present from 2 to 6 p.m.

The Red Cross will be at the store from 1 to 3 p.m. today through Friday.

The Cape Girardeau Police Department will fingerprint children at the store from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday.

The Air Evac Life Team from St. Francis Medical Center will visit the Supercenter from noon to 2 p.m. Friday. The Safe Kids Coalition will be at the store from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday.

A bicycle safety clinic will be conducted from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
