In the cards: Rick Boyd, manager of the Jackson Wal-Mart Supercenter, presented a $2,000 check to Darrell Sievers of the Jackson Police Department on Tuesday. The donation will go toward the JPD's "cop card" program, in which baseball-like trading cards of each officer are printed and given to children and adults upon request. Sievers said the money will go toward a second order of cards. The cards have gone over extremely well in bridging the gap between the police and area youth. Youth who collect 12 different cards are eligible for a free meal at Tractors' Restaurant, free merchandise at SEMO Sports Specialties and $5 off any purchase at Nearly Perfect Shoes and free admission to Jer-Rocks Park.
