Vice President Dick Cheney landed in Cape Girardeau around 4:30 p.m. today to attend a fundraiser at the home of local lawyer and conservative author David Limbaugh. The fundraiser was scheduled to benefit the campaign of Republican Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder.
Major traffic delays were caused as Cheney was transported from the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport to Limbaugh's home as local police worked with the Secret Service to provide security. Cape Girardeau police were unable to release any information on Cheney's route under Secret Service orders.
