Volunteers seeking disaster training can register for a basic response course set for Saturday at the Osage Centre in Cape Girardeau.
The all-day course is open to the public and will give volunteers the training needed to collect information and provide prioritized, efficient responses using state-of-the-art technology. After a classroom presentation, course attendees will experience field work providing essential data to responders. Participants will walk neighborhoods assessing damage, demographics and other details that will feed into a National Level Exercise the following week.
For registration information, contact Jim Watkins at 339-6799 and 576-0644.
