CAPE GIRARDEAU -- The best and brightest of the region's vocal and instrumental students will perform at Brandt Music Hall on two Sundays in February.

Performers will be submitted by their music teachers, and teachers are limited to one student for each recital.

Music teachers may acquire submission forms by contacting Marge Main of the Music Teachers Association at 335-3368 or the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts at 334-9233. Submission forms must be postmarked no later than Jan. 26 for grades 1-7 and Feb. 2 for grades 8-12.

Students in grades 1-7 will perform Feb. 3 at 2:30 p.m. Students in grades 8-12 will perform Feb. 10.

Each recital will consist of a single piece of music, which need not be memorized but must be no more than five minutes in length. Recitals are free and open to the public.

The student music recitals have been sponsored annually since the early '70s by the Southeast Area Music Teachers Association and Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts.
