VISION 2020 PANEL SETS MEETING

Although the year 2020 is a score of years away, plans are being finalized to help Cape Girardeau develop a vision for the city.

The Strategic Planning Committee of Vision 2020 will hold its last meeting from 8 to 10 this morning at the Osage Community Centre to present its final draft of vision statements, goals and strategies.

Since the committee's last meeting, groups have worked to finalize vision statements and objectives for the arts, culture and leisure; community services and enrichment; economic development; education; transportation and infrastructure.

The new strategic plan is scheduled for presentation to the Vision 2000 Community Relations Council this summer and then to the Cape Girardeau City Council by August.
