Vision 2000 will sponsor its second annual "Lunch at the Seminary" from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 9 at Old St. Vincent's Seminary.
Bob Robins, Vision 2000 president, said the menu will include grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, potato chips and a light dessert. Participants may tour the seminary and see the site for the new Mississippi River bridge.
According to Robins, last year's event raised more than $1,200. The money was used to help support Vision 2000 community activities.
Tickets may be purchased from any Vision 2000 member or by calling the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau. Tickets also will be available at the seminary on the day of the luncheon.
Vision 2000 was organized in 1987 by the Cape Girardeau City Council. Its purpose is to guide development of a community strategic plan to lead the city into the 21st century. Members are: Allan Bornstein, Wanda Conrad, James Davis, Bonnie Gerecke, Ann Gifford, Louis Haynes, Mae Josephine Roth, Loretta Schneider, Erma Seabaugh, Mary Spell, Shirley Stennis-Williams, Kathy Swan and Robins.
