VIDEO STORE OPENS IN DELTA GARBAGE

DELTA -- Shirley Lands recently remodeled her two-car garage to accommodate a video store. Movieland Video opened on Route 244 in Delta last month.

Lands estimated she now has 500 videos in stock,

For seven years, she has wanted to open a video rental business but found the start-up too costly.

However, when Movie Max went out of business in Cape Girardeau, Lands saw her opportunity.

"I bought a lot of stuff from them used tapes, shelves, etc.," she said.

Lands operates the store herself with some help from her son, "But he's not on the payroll yet," she said.
