JACKSON -- The second annual Victorian Driving Tour and Progressive dinner will be presented Sunday, Aug. 29, by the Jackson Heritage Association.

The tour will begin on Hubble Creek in Jackson City Park at 12:30 p.m. with a viewing of vintage cars and native American artifacts, and sampling of Indian foods.

The group next will go to Trail of Tears State Park, where a short lecture will be given on the history of the Cherokee Indians who passed through the area in the late 1830s. Native salads and greens will be provided.

The St. Louis Iron Mountain Steam Train in Jackson awaits the group next. The main course will be served enroute to Gordonville. There they will be picked up by the vintage automobiles and driven to the Jackson City Cemetery, where re-enactors will relate stories of local significance. Beverages will be provided.

The final destination will be the Oliver House, where fruit cobblers will be served. A tour of the historic home and an explanation of its connection with native American history will be given before guests are returned to their cars at the Jackson City Park at 5:30 p.m.

A limited number of tickets are available at $20 per person. Tickets can be reserved by calling 243-2866 or 243-7427.
