Victims of Missouri plane crash identified

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Boy Scouts at a Missouri camp site helped lead searchers to a small plane that had been missing for several days.

Madison County, Mo., Coroner Chris Follis on Monday identified the victims. The pilot was 61-year-old Lyle Anthony Fettig of the Milwaukee area. Passengers were 52-year-old Violet Badagliacco of Palos Hills, Ill., and 55-year-old Eun Young Reneau of Eau Claire, Wis.

Follis says the plane took off from Florida, stopped in Arkansas, then began a flight to Wisconsin when it disappeared from radar on March 27, soon after crossing into Missouri.

The search went on for days before scouts who had camped not far from the crash site told authorities they heard a low-flying plane. Searchers found the wreckage Friday in a wooded area near Fredericktown, Mo.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
