SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is investigating an armed robbery that reportedly happened at a car wash.
The robbery was called in to the Department of Public Safety at about 8:53 p.m. Thursday.
The victim told officers he was washing his vehicle at the Elite Car Wash, 511 N. Main St., when he was approached by a man who was carrying a handgun. The man demanded the victim's money.
The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the assailant who then fled on foot, running east on Hunter Street.
The victim was not injured in the incident, according to Sgt. James McMillen, Department of Public Safety public information officer.
The canine officer and his dog were called to the scene in an attempt to track the robbery subject.
