DEXTER, Mo. -- A fugitive on Utah County, Utah's top 10 most-wanted list was arrested Monday in Dexter, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshals Service.
Raymond Robert Trotter was arrested on warrants issued in Utah charging him with rape of a child, sodomy of a child and forcible sexual assault. The offenses allegedly occurred over many years with a victim under the age of 13. In 2002, Trotter was arrested by police in Utah on the charges and posted bond. Before he was scheduled to enter a guilty plea, Trotter absconded from his bond and remained on the run until his arrest this week when law enforcement from Utah contacted the U.S. Marshals' Eastern District of Missouri office.
Trotter was temporarily staying with family in Dexter. He is being held in the Cape Girardeau County Jail pending extradition, according to the news release.
