Southeast Missouri State University has been listed among the best regional universities in the Midwest in the 2014 edition of Best Colleges by U.S. News & World Report.
Southeast, which has been consistently ranked by the publication since 1993, is the highest ranked moderately selective public university in Missouri on this list, according to a news release from the university.
Institutions categorized as regional universities offer a full range of undergraduate majors and master's degree programs but few doctoral programs, the release said.
Best Colleges includes the rankings of nearly 1,800 schools nationwide. The 160-page 2014 edition of the Best Colleges guidebook is available at usnews.com/colleges and will be on newsstands Sept. 24.
Southeast Missouri State University has reported enrollment growth for 19 consecutive years.
