A Dexter man was sentenced to 14 years 10 months in federal prison for illegal firearm possession.

Timothy L. Dickerson, 35, had previous burglary convictions, which made it illegal for him to possess a firearm, said Larry Ferrell, assistant U.S. attorney.

Dickerson had been taken into custody by police after a woman had called saying Dickerson had fired a shot through her living room window before driving off.
